Compact Fluorometer for Long-term Monitoring of Photosynthesis

See the MICRO-PAM in action

Our monitoring station at the Walz headquarters in Effeltrich streams live chlorophyll fluorescence data from an Arizona cypress (Hesperocyparis arizonica). Four MICRO-PAM fluorometers continuously record photosynthetic yield, light intensity, temperature, and humidity - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

On October 17, 2024, after 5 years of recording photosynthesis in cherry laurel leaves, a new period of long-term monitoring was started. The pilot experiment combines PAM fluorescence analysis and sap flow measurements. A MICRO-PAM system including four fluorometers provides live data via a WiFi modem. Three types of live graphs are available: Y(II) + PAR, Y(II) + ETR, or Temperature + PAR + Humidity. Data can be downloaded and displayed using the WinControl-3 software. Import of sap flow data into the WinControl-3 software is under development.
