Leaf and Needle Porometer with PAM Fluorometry

The MINI-PAM-II/POROMETER is a leaf clip accessory for the MINI-PAM-II that combines porometry with PAM chlorophyll fluorescence analysis in a single measurement. It determines stomatal conductance and water evaporation of plant leaves and needles, providing direct insight into stomatal function, a key indicator of plant stress.
By measuring both gas exchange and photosynthetic efficiency simultaneously, the system links stomatal behaviour to photosynthetic performance without requiring two separate instruments
The porometer delivers data every second. At standard flow rate (100 µmol s⁻¹) and typical stomatal conductance (100 mmol m⁻² s⁻¹), a measurement completes in under 15 seconds. An automatic stability determination ensures reliable results: simply clip, wait for the stability criteria, and the measurement executes automatically.
The system integrates humidity sensors, a leaf-temperature sensor, pressure and flow sensors, a PAR sensor, and an ambient CO₂ sensor. Built-in GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetoscope add geospatial context including sun angle and leaf orientation to every measurement.
A removable dark shield enables easy determination of FV/FM and measurements with controlled actinic light. The system supports established protocols such as induction curves and light curves in combination with porometry, making it suitable for both rapid screening and detailed physiological analysis.
