Compact Version - PHYTO-PAM-II

In the COMPACT version, all components including the measurement chamber are enclosed in a single housing. Only a USB cable to a PC is needed during operation, making this version particularly suitable for on-deck and field use.

The system uses a 15 mm round quartz cuvette, illuminated from the bottom with fluorescence detection at a right angle. This ensures homogeneous illumination of the entire sample and representative fluorescence detection. For automated sampling, the Flow-Through Cuvette PHYTO-II/FT together with the Universal Pump Control PHYTO-II/FT/I enables software-controlled operation of peristaltic pumps.

Reference spectra from pure cultures are used for automated online deconvolution of up to four phytoplankton classes: green algae, diatoms/dinoflagellates, cyanobacteria, and phycoerythrin-containing organisms such as cryptophytes. All data can be recalculated at any time with alternative references.
