Version:
Chlorophyll Fluorescence System
The MAXI version of the IMAGING-PAM M-Series combines exceptional imaging performance with a robust and flexible design tailored for demanding research applications. At its core is a compact yet remarkably powerful 300 W LED array, delivering highly homogeneous illumination across areas of 10 × 13 cm - ideal for microtiter plates and similarly sized samples. This advanced light engine supports pulse-modulated excitation, actinic illumination, and saturation pulses, ensuring full compatibility with all PAM-based fluorescence protocols. In addition, the MAXI measuring head can be integrated directly into fully customized experimental setups, offering maximum flexibility for unique research environments and bespoke system configurations.
A high-quality CMOS camera is available to meet different sensitivity and resolution requirements. The IMAG-K9 (with a 2/3" chip, 1280 x 960 resolution, and 4-pixel binning) provides outstanding performance, even in low light. For applications requiring high sensitivity, a prime lens with an F1.4 aperture and a focal length of 16 mm with very low distortion is available. If a manual zoom for greater flexibility is desired, an F1.8 lens with a focal length ranging from 12.5 to 75.0 mm is available.
This configuration allows for the seamless adjustment of the imaging field from 10 × 13 cm to 13 × 22 mm while maintaining a constant image resolution. Imaging Win’s new digital zoom function further increases the flexibility of zoom lenses and also expands the possibilities for fixed focal length lenses.
For comfortable and safe operation, the system can be complemented with the dedicated IMAG-MAX/GS Mounting Stand, equipped with integrated eye protection via a red Perspex hood. This allows users to observe chlorophyll fluorescence directly during measurements. An adjustable x-y stage or multiwell plate can be positioned at the precisely defined working distance of 18.5 cm, ensuring reproducible sample placement.
For even greater flexibility, the bottom plate of the stand IMAG-MAX/GS can be removed, allowing the entire system to be elevated using the provided legs. This enables imaging of plants growing in trays or pots. In addition, the MAXI version can be combined with the large gas-exchange cuvette 3010-GWK1 of the GFS-3000 using optional adapter sets - opening the door to integrated fluorescence and gas-exchange measurements under fully controlled environmental conditions.
